| Age: 37 Former Occupation: Detective, LAPD Physical Description: Standing at six foot, one inches, Charlie Crews is from pale Briton stock. A natural red head with blue eyes, he is wiry and nimble on his feet, able to hold his own in a fight. His job calls for suits but his preferred casual wear is jeans and loose button-up shirts. Charlie is right handed and can often be found with a piece of fruit in his mouth. Personality: Charlie is a cop with a past. Twelve years in prison can change a man, making him a little more animal. His wits are still sharp, but his temper is very up in the air. Things that would upset a normal person roll right off him. But things that someone wouldn't necessarily be upset by send Charlie into a bit of a rage. This anger is both a help and a hindrance to his work, keeping both he and his partner on their toes. Charlie is also obsessive, holding on to the goal of finding out who framed him with the tenacity of a bulldog. His study of Zen, which he started while in prison, has tempered his attitudes and made him annoying at times with his seemingly random Zen moments. History A patrol officer with the LAPD, Charlie Crews was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to Pelican Bay Penitentiary for triple homicide, including the death of his friend and partner in a bar. Charlie served twelve years of his life sentence before an attorney, convinced he was innocent, got his case reopened. He was exonerated and released based on DNA evidence that showed he was not the perp. He subsequently sued the city of Los Angeles, winning both 50 million dollars and his job back, with a promotion commensurate with the position he would have held if he had not been jailed. This took Charlie from being a con in prison to a detective with the Robbery/Homicide division of the LAPD. Along with working cases with his new partner, Dani Reese, Charlie started to investigate the homicides he was convicted of. He wanted to know who the real murderer was, and who framed him. He has since had the murderer arrested, but he is still looking for the people who framed him, and why. |
